Ofsted & DfE Performance Tables
During the period of time between the 2018 Ofsted inspection and the October 2023 Ofsted inspection, Lapford school experienced a lot of turbulence. In addition to the impact caused by Covid, the Head of School left and there were lots of changes to the staff team. In 2022, a new Head of School was appointed as well as an executive headteacher responsible for the Trust primary schools.
In 2023, the school received a 'Requires Improvement' judgement. This was a fair judgement at the time, and the areas listed for improvement had already been identified by senior leaders and were being worked on. In November 2024, a school inspection review was arranged to validate the many improvements and changes that have taken place over the past year. This review was carried out by a registered Ofsted inspector and matched the rigour of an 'official' inspection. While no grades can be given, it is evident from the report that Lapford is not just a good school once again, it is a great school. The report is below.
