For Parents
At Lapford Community Primary School we want our pupils to enjoy their learning in a caring, well-structured, safe and happy environment. Children are well cared for, nurtured and entertained throughout their education at our school.
We know how important it is to keep you informed about what your child is doing at school. Our newsletter is distributed to all parents twice a month, and we’re always happy to speak to you if you have any questions about our day-to-day activities.
Our school day starts at 08:50 (09:00 register) and our day finishes at 15:30. There is also an after-school club.
Lunch is from 12:30 until 13:30, the children eat their lunch in the hall and then have playtime out on the field until the weather forces us to retreat to the playground. Children are recognised for their achievements, friendliness and manners and earn a place on the special table at lunch to celebrate.
We are incredibly lucky at Lapford to have wonderful children who play together no matter which class they are in and being a small school, everyone knows everyone. We often have Yr5s playing with YrR, it's lovely to see.
Parents are essential to the success of any school, and the parents of our school are exceptionally engaged, and very proud of the school's role in the community. Our Home School Agreement governs the mutual expectations between the school and the parents, and the Friends of Lapford School meet regularly to share thoughts and issues, allowing every parent and other members of the local community the opportunity to get involved with the school.
We know how important good communication is to parents. If you have any questions about any communication you receive from the school, please let us know, and we will be happy to help.
