Herons Learn To Carry Out CPR
Herons Class received a visit from Jay’s Aim, a Devon born charity set up to prevent young people dying from undiagnosed heart conditions in South West England through awareness, training and the installation of defibrillators...
Kirsty was our trainer and she was brilliant, explaining the difference between heart attack and cardiac arrest in a child-friendly way. Once the children understood what a cardiac arrest was, she taught them how to respond and showed them how to carry out CPR. They all enjoyed having a go on the dummies and picked up the technique very quickly. She also taught the children how and when to use a defibrillator and I feel confident that they would know exactly what to do in a medical emergency.
